Transformative Couples Therapy® was developed by David Mars starting in 2007. He renamed his method AEDP for Couples during his eleven-year tenure as a Faculty member with the AEDP Institute. In 2019 he left the Institute and restored his method to its original name Transformative Couples Therapy®.
