Online Transformative Couples Therapy® Experiential Assistants Ongoing Training Series

This series consists of five two-hour online experiential assistant training sessions held once monthly to continue our community experience of learning taught by David Mars, Ph.D. of combined edited and subtitled video and training in the theory and practice of Transformative Couples Therapy®.

***Note: Some of our training sessions may be used to create professional training videos for psychotherapists.

Objectives:

This EA On-going Training will bring a special focus to:

  1. Identify three ways to help establish a secure base in treatment.
  2. Describe two ways to regulate emotional reactivity in both couple members.
  3. Detect the healthiest aspects of each couple member.
  4. Utilize two methods for couple members to process emotional experience.
  5. Design healing a portrayal to treat relational trauma.
  6. Define why affirmation of the self is important.
  7. Explain how clients can melt defense of intellectualization.

A new EA Training series begins on March 20th, 2023

3/20/23, 4/17/23, 5/15/23, 6/12/23 and 9/18/23 Mondays from 8 AM to 10 AM PST

For the series of five two-hour sessions: $300 (Payment may be made in full or by a subscription of 5 monthly payments of $60)

Additional information:

  1. This course is designed for intermediate to advanced learners.

  2. Our target audience is Psychologists, MFTs, Licensed Professional Counselors, Psychiatrists, Licensed Social Workers and Pastoral Counselors.

  3. Our schedule for this course is:

    8:00 AM to 8:10 AM PT Orientation and opening eight-minute Channels of Experience meditation=

    8:10-8:20 AM PT Check-in and discussion of each participant’s response to the meditation and any breakthroughs or problems in treating their clients with TCT

    8:20 to 9:00 Presentation and discussion of video-taped clinical Transformative Couples Therapy session and/or Power Point presented by David Mars

    9:10 AM to 9:50 AM PT Participant shares video and receives supervision from David Mars and consultation from their colleagues

    9:50 AM to 10:00 AM PT Closure, including metaprocessing the training session.

    On alternate monthly sessions there will be no video presentation and Power Point from David Mars, but instead three participants will share video of their TCT clinical work following the same time frame.

He is the developer of the TCT method and was formerly a faculty member of the AEDP Institute teaching the method for eleven years.
